It took me awhile to understand the calendar system here, but after figuring out Louis's birthday it's pretty similar to how the dates are back home.

The Night Garden is having a special event and I want to take you to see the butterflies before that ends on the 5th, but on your actual birthDAY, let's see...

[AND there's a bit of a pause between that message and the next because she keeps drafting up ideas, deleting them, writing something else up, deleting, and then finally:]

Oh! I'd love to see that! I'm really curious how different the wing patterns are for butterflies here. Small changes in the ecosystem can shift the patterns based on their needs, so they must look so different here.

Ummm... a few ideas... I'm not sure. What if we do something you want to do, too? It feels weird just doing something I want to do all day.

Not to mention all the different kinds of plants they have here, I wouldn't be surprised to learn there are kinds of alien bugs to match.

Something I want to do...hmmm...well, for Louis' birthday I got him tickets to this spa in the Diamond District which seemed kind of nice when I poked around. But I'm not sure if you're the kind of guy who'd enjoy that sort of thing...

A spa? I've never really gone to one before. It's just, like, fancy baths and cleaning stuff, right?

I'm not really surprised you've never been. It's...kind of a girly thing, I guess, and they do have fancy baths. But the place I was looking at offers more than just that, like massages and steam rooms.

It seems kind of nice, considering how banged up your body usually is. I just don't know if it's something you'd enjoy.

I don't really mind doing girly things. I mean, I've worn a dress and heels a few times and it wasn't bad.

But, massages and steam rooms... Steam does feel nice. Never had a massage before, but people always talk about how good they feel! We can try it, if you want! At the least, you'd have a good time and that'd make me have a good time.

Oh! Well, it happened a few times back home. The first time was because I needed to go see Louis but I couldn't be recognized by the Shishigumi. I just needed a disguise. So, I got clothes from Gouhin that he had leftover from his wife. Took me awhile to get the makeup right. Louis seemed really surprised when he saw me.

The second time was during the big fight I had against all the gangs. The leader of the fox gang was a woman and it felt unfair to fight her when she was in heels and a dress and I wasn't. So, I just fashioned a dress and got some heels.

I guess the second time wasn't quite the same, but I guess I count it.

The first one makes some sense I guess but...

How is wearing a dress and heels equal? It's inconvenient but if that's what she wears all the time...you put yourself at a disadvantage.

Do you...want heels as a birthday gift? Is that something you're into?

Huh? Oh... Yeah, I guess if she's really used to it, that probably did put me at a disadvantage. I guess everything ended up okay anyway.

Do I want heels? I never really thought about doing it again... but I guess I don't think about a lot of stuff. I did feel kinda nice when I disguised myself. It felt different from my normal outfits. Fancier. All the prep and the way I have to move. Like I was someone else!

I don't really want to think what could have happened if it didn't end up okay...

[she still doesn't really know much about what happened that day...it's not something that got much coverage, after all, beyond the bits and pieces she's picked up over the months following the turf war and destruction of the Back Alley Market.]

Dressing up is fun, and we should pick out fancy clothes together, that'd actually be a lot of fun... though I think I'd get you some nice flats instead. Not saying you can't wear heels, but around someone like me, you're far enough away as it is and hard to reach.
And I like you as you are.

Picking out clothes with you sounds like it'd be fun! And I guess heels do just make me even taller... So we can try flats! Whatever flats are.

But you'd look great with some nice heels!

We can go shopping before the spa then! The Diamond District probably has a lot of places with fancy clothes, and I've been saving up from my jobs. So it's my treat for your birthday.
Flats are just flat shoes. You'll see.

And...maybe I'll get heels then. Maybe they even make them tall enough where I can get to you more easily.

I'd say you don't have to buy it for me, but I guess it is for my birthday and that's kind of the whole thing of birthdays. So, okay!

Hopefully not too tall. I feel like the taller they get, the more like stilts they'd be... I'd hate for you to fall over.

And I have great balance! I'm sure I can manage.

I was just teasing. Anything you get me is special. And I'm also joking about the heels...too high of heels are a pain.

But I like our plan for your birthday. Shopping and a spa day...it'll be fun!
